The Bureau of Economic Security exposed a scheme to appropriate UAH 8 million from the Kyivpastrans utility company through a prior conspiracy of individuals.

Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the fact of appropriation of budget funds in particularly large amounts by officials of the Kyivpastrans utility company

As the investigation established, a group of individuals, by prior conspiracy, concluded direct contracts between municipal and private enterprises for the supply of pneumatic tires at inflated prices, which caused losses to the budget of UAH 8 million.

A representative of a private enterprise was exposed for supplying tires at inflated prices to a municipal transport company. The director of this enterprise was notified of suspicion of embezzlement, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position under Part 2 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

We also reported that in Kryvyi Rih, the director of the municipal enterprise of the city council and nine other individuals were reported under suspicion in a case of embezzlement of almost 7 million UAH of budget funds .

In addition, NABU and SAPO exposed a scheme of embezzlement of public funds during the Ministry of Defense's procurement of food products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the context of a full-scale Russian invasion.
