Halytskyi District Court of the city of Lviv sentenced Maryan Naugolnyk, a member of the Bibra City Council from the "Varta" party, who also works as the head of the city council's staff. According to the case materials, deputy Maryan Naugolnyk conspired with another deputy, the head of the land commission Andrii Alfavitskyi, the materials regarding which are allocated to a separate proceeding, demanded a bribe from the entrepreneur in the amount of 30,000. up to 40 thousand dollars For a bribe, they promised to influence the vote of the city council regarding the extension of the long-term lease of a plot of land with an area of ​​1.5 hectares. Otherwise, they threatened to prevent the adoption of the relevant decision.

Transfer of part of the bribe in the amount of 15,000 UAH was held on February 21. The businessman handed over the money to the cashier of the currency exchange point, as previously agreed with the deputies. After that, the deputies were detained by the police.

At the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt and repented, asked not to punish him severely and to give him a chance to make amends without deprivation of liberty.

Judge Oleksandr Kitov found Maryan Naugolnyk guilty of abusing influence committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him to a fine of 578,000. UAH The verdict can still be challenged in an appeal.
