Deputy Herman sentenced to 2 years for bribery image

The Myronivskyi District Court of Kyiv Region found Ivan Herman, a deputy of the Myronivskyi territorial community, guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and sentenced him to two years in prison.

This is reported by the information portal "My Kyiv Region".

According to the court's decision, the term of serving the sentence will be calculated from the moment of actual detention, including the period of pre-trial detention from June 3 to 5, 2024 (the period when Herman was in custody before posting bail), in accordance with Part 5 of Article 72 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - at the rate of one day of pre-trial detention for one day of imprisonment.

The preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 454,200 hryvnias remains in effect until the verdict becomes final. After that, the bail will be returned to the bailor.

The court also decided to apply special confiscation: to seize 100 banknotes with a denomination of 100 US dollars for a total amount of 10,000 dollars (in particular, one banknote of the PL03125880 series, one of the ML40950052V series, 98 banknotes of the MV07247983C series), as well as a 2017 Audi A8 car, into the state's ownership.

The verdict can be appealed to the Kyiv Court of Appeal through the Myroniv District Court within 30 days from the date of its pronouncement.
