The director of a hospital in Prykarpattia was arrested for bribery
The director of a district hospital in Prykarpattia was arrested on kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies.
In Prykarpattia, law enforcement officers detained the 42-year-old director of the Verkhovyna multidisciplinary hospital, Halyna Kikinchuk , who bypassed the procedure for public procurement of medicines by taking bribes from representatives of pharmaceutical companies.
As the police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported, the director of the hospital concluded contracts with three entrepreneurs for a year, for which she received at least UAH 100,000 in bribes.
The official deliberately crushed the items of the tenders - medicines and medicines necessary for the hospital, in order to bypass the public procurement procedure. Therefore, she entered into direct contracts with representatives of the "necessary" pharmaceutical companies, for which she received a kickback from them
According to the mass media, searches were conducted in the residences and workplaces of female directors and representatives of pharmaceutical companies and they seized draft records, originals of medical documents, bank cards to which money was transferred, and other evidence of illegal activity.
According to the Kurs website, representatives of the pharmaceutical companies transferred part of the profit in the form of a percentage of the sum of the signed contracts to the personal card accounts of the director and her daughter. Halyna Kikinchuk received part of the bribe in the form of a gift certificate for recreation and accommodation in a health resort.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the law enforcement officers found out that the director of the hospital received bribes for assistance in removing men from the military register. Conscripts were issued fake health certificates and assigned disability groups at the hospital. Halyna Kikinchuk involved doctors who are part-time members of the military medical commission in the illegal activity.
The director of the medical institution was charged with suspicion under Part 1, Article 3. 368 (Received unlawful benefit by an official). Three other defendants - representatives of pharmaceutical companies - according to Part 1 of Art. 369 (Offer, promise or provision of an illegal benefit to an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose preventive measures for the suspect: 24-hour house arrest and personal commitment.
