VNU associate professor suspected of taking bribe for exam

An associate professor at the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University is suspected of extorting and receiving a bribe for an exam.
According to the investigation, the teacher demanded 29 thousand hryvnias and 650 US dollars from the student for passing exams and defending his thesis.
The woman was detained while receiving part of the funds in the amount of 11 thousand hryvnias.
The teachers were charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This refers to extortion and receiving unlawful benefits. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
The prosecutor's office added that the issue of removing the associate professor from her position is currently being resolved. The court has chosen a preventive measure for her - house arrest.
