In Odesa, law enforcement officers exposed the former head of the State Executive Service in Izmail district for bribery.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Odesa region.
According to the investigation, the former official, who is currently engaged in private legal practice, used his connections to provide illegal services for money. In particular, he promised one of the clients to close the executive proceedings that were opened against him for 30 thousand hryvnias. For this, the accused had to influence his former colleagues.
In addition, the ex-official offered another man help in going abroad through an official checkpoint, using his connections in the State Border Service.
After receiving bribes, law enforcement officers detained the suspect. He was charged with suspicion under the articles of obtaining an illegal benefit to influence the decisions of public officials (Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). For these crimes, the suspect faces up to nine years in prison.
