The ex-director of the tube dispensary in Rivne received a suspended sentence

The ex-manager of a tube dispensary in Rivne escaped punishment for a bribe of UAH 860,000.

The higher anti-corruption court sentenced the former director of the Rivne Regional Phthisiopulmonary Medical Center, Fedor Avruta, who was found guilty of bribery of UAH 860,000.

Instead of the main punishment, the official was given a two-year probationary period. According to the court verdict of September 10, in January 2022, the Rivne Regional Phthisiopulmonology Medical Center, whose director at that time was Fedir Avruka, put up for auction the property of the children's sanatorium "Novostav" in Zoryansk tergromada.

After the winner was chosen, the accused contacted him and promised not to interfere with the transfer of property in exchange for a monetary reward. According to the investigation, Fedir Avruka received a bribe of UAH 860,000 in two parts. SBU employees detained the official on April 23, 2023.

After the information about Fedor Avruka's corruption scheme became public, the accused applied for dismissal. On September 27, 2023, according to the agreement of the parties, it was signed by the head of the regional council Andrii Karaush. The contract with the official was prematurely terminated a month later - on October 31.

According to the materials of the court case, Fedir Avruka admitted his guilt and entered into a corresponding agreement with the prosecutor.

Judge Kateryna Shiroka found the official guilty of abusing influence and receiving an illegal benefit (Part 3 of Article 369-2 and Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), but released him from the main punishment and imposed a two-year probationary period.

The following duties were assigned to Fedor Avruka: to periodically appear for registration with the authorized body on probation issues; notify the authorized body on probation issues about a change of place of residence or work.

According to the media, Fedir Avruka was the head of the phthisiopulmonology center in Rivne since 2019. His appointment to the post was met with a scandal: activists noted that the official submitted documents on time and did not meet the qualification requirements. But, despite this, the deputies of the Rivne Regional Council supported his candidacy.
