The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the term of office of Serhiy Totsky, former director of the security department of PJSC National Energy Company Ukrenergo, until March 20. He is suspected of embezzlement of UAH 10 million.

As is known, the court applied a preventive measure to the former head of the Ukrenergo department, Serhiy Totsky. He was also given the following obligations: to appear upon first demand; not to leave the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region without permission; to report any change of his place of residence and/or place of work; to refrain from communicating with witnesses and other suspects; to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping; to refrain from visiting the premises used by PJSC NPC Ukrenergo.

The SAPO prosecutor requested to extend the term of office for another two months.

The request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to extend the term of the duties assigned to the suspect (Totsky - ed.) in criminal proceedings is granted. The suspect's term of duties stipulated in Part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code is extended until March 20, 2025 inclusive.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions against the former director of the security department of NPC Ukrenergo. According to the investigation, during March - April 2022, the head of the Security Department of PJSC NPC Ukrenergo, who was responsible for checking suppliers and selecting the most economically advantageous offers, ensured the purchase of bulletproof vests from a predetermined company at a price twice the market price.

This supplier did not have the necessary permits and licenses and had never manufactured such products. According to media reports, this company is TOP Trading Line. As a result of the transaction, the state suffered losses in the amount of more than UAH 10.3 million.
