Ex-Chief of Economic Court Released on Bail

Former chairman of the Western Commercial Court of Appeal Borys Plotnitsky was released from custody after posting UAH 30.28 million in bail, which was determined as an alternative to being held in a pre-trial detention center.
A bail of UAH 30.28 million has been posted for the suspect, the former chairman of the Western Appeals Economic Court, which was determined by the investigating judge of the Higher Economic Court of Justice as an alternative measure of restraint.
As is known, the anti-corruption court arrested Plotnitsky. As an alternative, a bail of UAH 30.28 million was set for him.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to the former and current heads of the Lviv Regional Economic Court. According to the investigation, the suspects promised to ensure the adoption of "necessary" decisions in court cases of the Western Appeal Economic Court for $1 million, as well as to prevent the contract killing of a whistleblower. During the investigation, detectives and prosecutors documented the transfer of part of the ill-gotten gains in the amount of $75,000.
