The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have uncovered a scheme to embezzle funds intended for payments under the "green tariff." Among the defendants in the case is the former deputy head of the President's Office.

Enterprises located in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region earned money from this scheme, the NABU press service reported.

According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the People's Deputy of the Holos faction, the case concerns the suspicion of former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Rostyslav Shurma.

In addition to Shurma, there are eight more suspects in the case: a former member of the supervisory board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, his brother, the owner of a network of Ukrainian and foreign companies, a confidant of a former high-ranking official, managers and employees of controlled enterprises, as well as the former commercial director of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo JSC

The investigation established that the former deputy of the Donetsk regional council and his brother established control over enterprises that produced electricity from alternative sources in 2019-2020. In particular, they built solar power plants with a total capacity of about 60 MW in the Vasylkiv district of Zaporizhia.

Rostislav Shurma is a suspect in the EBK database.
