Ex-Deputy Energy Minister Remains in Custody
The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has remanded former Deputy Minister of Energy Oleksandr Heil in custody until January 24. His bail of UAH 15 million was left unchanged. This was reported by the press service of the AC HACC, without specifying the name of the defendant.

The Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice considered the appeal of the defense attorney against the decision of the investigating judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine dated November 26, 2024 on the extension of the term of detention of the former Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of UAH 15 million. Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice dismissed the defense attorney's appeal, and the decision of the investigating judge of the Supreme Court of Justice remained unchanged.
Recently, the anti-corruption court extended Hale's arrest, but reduced his bail from UAH 25 million to UAH 15 million. According to Slovo i Dilo, he is still in pre-trial detention.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO detained Deputy Minister of Energy Oleksandr Heyl and three other individuals. According to the investigation, Heyl, in collusion with the head of one of the state-owned coal enterprises and two other individuals, requested the head of another coal enterprise located in the western region to provide an illegal benefit in the amount of $500,000.
In return, he promised to ensure the transfer for storage with the possibility of use of valuable equipment for coal mining from the mines of the state enterprise "Selydivvugol" to the state enterprise "Volynvugol".
