A Chinese citizen tried to bribe a border guard in Odesa

At a checkpoint in Odesa, a Chinese citizen tried to bribe a border guard to enter Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported.

The incident happened at the "Starokazache" checkpoint. According to the DPSU, the 43-year-old foreigner planned to visit Ukraine, but could not explain the purpose of his trip and did not know where he was going.

Realizing the complexity of the situation, the man tried to "solve the issue" by offering a bribe of $200 to the border inspector

The border guard refused to accept the bribe. The inspectors informed the police about the discovery of signs of a crime under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — offering, promising or providing an illegal benefit to an official.
