Convicted of corruption, the former head of the Khmelnytskyi City Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC), traumatologist Lyubomyr Zavyalets, mobilized to the army.

This is reported by "Glavkom" with reference to the data of the court register.

The exposadovets served his sentence in the Khmelnytskyi pre-trial detention center. There he expressed a desire to do military service under a contract. The management of the penal institution heard that he had been convicted and appealed to the court with a motion to grant him conditional early release from serving his sentence.

Such a procedure became possible for convicted persons who voluntarily agree to fight, after the Verkhovna Rada adopted relevant changes to the legislation in May 2024.

The court found out that the ex-chairman of the MSEC is subject to the requirements of military service under the contract (the convict has more than three years left before reaching the maximum age for military service; he is fit for military service due to his health; he has passed a professional and psychological selection; he has sufficient the level of physical training for the performance of military service duties).

The court satisfied the submission of the pre-trial detention center management, released the doctor convicted of corruption early and handed him over to the National Guard to accompany him to the military unit with which he had signed a contract. If he had not mobilized, Lubomir Zavyaltsy would have had to sit in prison for another year and four months.

In addition, Themis placed the released convict under administrative supervision for one year, which will be carried out by the commander of the military unit.

In particular, the former head of the MSEC is prohibited from staying outside the military unit's location and without the commander's permission to travel outside the military unit's location on personal matters.

Earlier, we reported that SBI employees exposed the head of  the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center for Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) Tetiana Krupa and her son Oleksandr Krupa for illegal enrichment.

During the searches, they found almost 6 million dollars in cash, jewelry and branded items.
