The platoon commander tried to issue a fake disability for a bribe

The SSU, together with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Western region, exposed in Lviv a platoon commander of one of the military units, a senior lieutenant, who, for a bribe of 10,000 dollars, offered to help register a disability and release his colleague from military service.

According to the information of the SSU of the Lviv region and the special prosecutor's office in the field of defense, the 31-year-old platoon commander, using his personal influence on the doctors of one of the Lviv medical institutions, promised his colleague, a military serviceman, to produce fictitious documents.

The platoon commander was detained in Lviv while receiving the first tranche of a $2,000 bribe. He was charged with a crime under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which refers to obtaining an illegal benefit for influencing decision-making.

An investigation is currently underway, during which investigators are identifying other persons who may be involved in the corruption scheme. The court will soon choose a preventive measure for the detainee.

Earlier we wrote that employees of the National Police and SBU seized almost UAH 8 million from a doctor from Khmelnytskyi who was exposed for bribery. For a bribe of 3,000-8,000 dollars, the deputy head of the military medical commission of the regional TPC issued false certificates for evaders.

"EBK" also reported that in Zhytomyr law enforcement officers seized more than 4.4 million hryvnias from a doctor who issued fake magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results to conscripts.
