Odesa Doctor Suspected of Bribery to Evade Conscription image

A doctor from the Primary Health Care Center No. 3 was detained in Odessa. The man is suspected of receiving bribes from conscripts.

This was reported by the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspect, who had acquaintances among city hospital officials, offered men of draft age to avoid mobilization for $600.

The doctor promised to influence medical officials to issue his "clients" documents about inpatient treatment without actual hospitalization. Thanks to these certificates, the men would be recognized as unfit and sent to the MSEK for assignment of the appropriate disability group.

The suspect was detained after he received payment and provided medical documents. The man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all those involved in the scheme to earn money from military conscripts.

Earlier, two military personnel were exposed for corruption in Odessa.
