n Odesa, a village council official is suspected of embezzling funds

In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained the head of the department of the village council. According to investigators, she signed a contract with a contractor to repair the school shelter at an artificially inflated cost.

This was reported in the press service of the National Police of the Odesa region.

The investigators established that the private enterprise, in accordance with the concluded contract, carried out repairs and work on the arrangement of the shelter in one of the schools in Odesa.

However, the contractor entered false information into the official documentation regarding the scope and cost of the completed works. At the same time, the head of the department of the village council signed false documents. In this way, an extra 350,000 hryvnias were transferred from the budget to the accounts of the private enterprise.

Officials of the village council reported suspicion of abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The woman faces three to six years in prison.

It is noted that at the beginning of September, the contractor also received suspicion. He is suspected of acquiring property by abuse of office and official forgery (Part 4 of Article 191 and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
