A border guard was detained in Odesa for transporting evaders

A soldier of the border service was detained in Odesa region, who is suspected of illegally transporting conscripts across the border during martial law.

According to the investigation, at the end of August, the detained border guard, for the purpose of personal enrichment, organized an illegal border crossing for a citizen of draft age. He demanded 4 thousand dollars for his services. The border guard offered to cross the border outside the official checkpoints, despite the curfew imposed during martial law.

The citizen, who was searched for illegal crossing, acted under the control of law enforcement agencies. On September 20, after the transfer of the entire amount of money, the border guard was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.

Currently, the detainee has been remanded in custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 204,400 hryvnias.
