Education department in Rivne region caused major losses

The Department of Education, Family, Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism of the Bilokrynytsia Village Council in the Rivne region is suspected of financial irregularities. According to the results of the audit conducted by specialists of the Western Office of the State Audit Service in the Rivne region, they may have caused financial losses in the amount of 942.2 thousand hryvnias.

According to the information on the website, during the audit, the control covered the period from the beginning of 2021 to September 2024. During this time, it was discovered that there was a probable incorrect use of educational subvention funds for a total amount of 267.7 thousand hryvnias.
In four secondary education institutions, overtime positions of teaching staff were maintained with this money; violations during procurement for 288.4 thousand hryvnias, which concerned overpricing of electricity, gas and food; facts of excessive payments due to overpricing of the cost of repair and construction works for a total of 168 thousand hryvnias; overtime write-off of products, which could have caused material damage of 143.3 thousand hryvnias.
The Department of Education reimbursed a significant portion of the costs, the State Audit Service reported.
During the inspection and in fulfillment of the mandatory requirements for eliminating the identified violations, the object of inspection compensated for most of the violations. The audit materials were sent to the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office
