Zakarpattia College Teacher Suspected in Deferment Scheme

Law enforcement officers detained a teacher at one of the technical and vocational colleges in Transcarpathia, who, according to investigators, "helped" enroll men in studies without entrance exams for $700 per person.
According to the agency, this scheme allowed men to unjustifiably obtain deferrals from mobilization. Also, according to the SSU, the teacher facilitated the fictitious admission of "applicants" to a network of similar educational institutions in Kyiv.
The police detained her immediately after receiving the entire amount.
Investigators have charged the teacher under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period. She faces up to eight years in prison.
It was previously reported that a college official in Odessa is suspected of a deferred payment scheme.
