NABU Completes Investigation of Dnipropetrovsk District Court Head

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have completed investigating the case on suspicion of Serhiy Burkhan, the head of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, in receiving $2,500 in illegal benefits.
This was reported by the press services of NABU and SAPO, without mentioning the name of the judge.
According to media reports, it is about Burkhan. At the same time, according to our data, the judge's accomplice Oleksiy Bilyashevich has agreed to a plea bargain.
On February 21, 2025, on the instructions of the head of the SAPO, the prosecutor with the participation of NABU detectives reported a change in the previously reported suspicion to the head of one of the district courts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, who in April 2024 was caught receiving 2,500 USD of illegal gain. The judge's actions are currently qualified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As a reminder, NABU and SAPO exposed the head of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Serhiy Burkhan, and an accomplice "red-handed". The investigation established that the head of the court, acting through mediation with another person, received $2,500 from a citizen for lifting the arrest on property that was seized within the framework of criminal proceedings. Law enforcement agencies documented the receipt of the specified funds through an intermediary and the subsequent decision in favor of the person.
