The National Police is investigating Serhiy Shaykhet through a company car
The National Police of Ukraine has launched an official investigation into the head of the Migration Police Department, Serhii Shaikhet. The decision was made on October 11 after the publication of an investigation by Bihus.Info journalists, where it was recorded how the general uses an official car with operational license plates for trips to the gym during working hours. The National Police noted that appropriate decisions will be made after the completion of the internal investigation.
According to Bihus.Info, 37-year-old Serhii Shaikhet received the rank of police general in the fall of 2023 and headed the Migration Police Department. Previously, he held the position of the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Department of the National Police.
Journalists recorded how he uses a company car with operational numbers, intended for the performance of official tasks, for personal purposes. According to media reports, this vehicle was handed over to the Migration Police Department by Western partners in the spring of 2024. In this car, Serhii Shaikhet visits the sports complex several times a week, in the middle of the working day, and spends about three hours there. It was also noticed that this car regularly appears in one of the most expensive residential complexes in Kyiv.
The head of the Department does not own any real estate in this complex. However, his father Oleg Shaikhet owns an apartment and a parking space there. The area of the apartments is about 200 m², and it was purchased back in 2020
It is noted that similar apartments in this complex are valued at one million dollars.
According to the investigators, Oleg Shaikhet, Serhiy's father, has been engaged in security activities for 10 years and is a co-owner of the Security company. The state oil production company "Ukrnafta" is also a co-owner of this company. Before its nationalization in 2022, Ukrnafta was controlled by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and the Privat group.
Earlier we wrote about the fact that the National Security Agency completed the monitoring of the lifestyle of the former head of the Cyber Security Department of the SBU, Ilya Vityuk. The results of the inspection showed that there were no significant discrepancies between his declared income and the real standard of living . The inspection was started after the investigation of Slidstvo.Info journalists, who discovered that Ilya Vityuk's family owns luxury real estate worth at least 25.5 million hryvnias.
In addition, in September, a deputy prosecutor of the Zaporizhzhia region was found guilty of accepting a bribe . The official demanded 40,000 dollars (over UAH 1.6 million) for help in changing the investigation, canceling the seizure of property and avoiding criminal liability for the person against whom the investigation was conducted.
