According to the publication "Nashi Groshi", the case concerns "decisions" in the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), which allegedly involved people close to the president.

Sensational twist in the corruption case of the former deputy head of the President's Office! Andriy Smirnov was also suspected of bribery for decisions in the AMCU with Zelensky's people

– the publication notes.

According to journalists, the SAPO and NABU announced the details of the proceedings during the court session. In particular, they are talking about the events of the winter of 2021, when a sports field worth 40 million UAH was planned to be built in Aritsyz, Odessa region. The company of local developer Igor Chernyshev lost the tender and offered Smirnov to build a house for him on the Black Sea coast for 100 thousand dollars.

According to the investigation, Smirnov advised to appeal to the AMCU to appeal the tender results. At that time, the department was headed by Olga Pishchanska, whom journalists call a friend of the Zelensky family (her sister managed the presidential entourage's Italian villa). The necessary decision was made by the AMCU tender board headed by Iryna Kopaigora, the daughter of a professor from Kryvyi Rih who, as the authors of the investigation note, taught science to Volodymyr Zelensky in his youth.

Never before have the NABU and SAPO cases been so close to Zelensky. Therefore, given that Andriy Smirnov is the bearer of very sensitive information about Zelensky and his entourage, the further story could become very heated.

– journalists write.

It is also noted that "it is not profitable for too many people that Smirnov would make a deal with the investigation and start telling what he knows in exchange for a reduced sentence." According to the publication, powerful levers of influence may be used to collapse the case in the High Anti-Corruption Court.

The trial of this case is scheduled to continue on April 30.

Andriy Smirnov is a figure in the EBK database.

We will remind, earlier on May 22, the SAPO and NABU announced suspicion of former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Smirnov in illegal enrichment of 15.7 million hryvnias.

NABU detectives established that between 2020 and 2022, the official purchased assets worth UAH 17.1 million, having savings and official income for this period in the amount of more than UAH 1.3 million. Thus, the difference between the value of the purchased property and the official's funds was UAH 15.7 million.

These are 2 cars, namely a Mercedes-Benz and a Volkswagen, Honda and BMW motorcycles, three parking spaces in Kyiv, an apartment in Lviv, and a plot of land in Transcarpathia.
