In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers have completed an investigation and referred to court a case of misappropriation of money from the Pereyaslav city community, which was intended to restore the asphalt concrete surface of the city's streets. The suspect is an entrepreneur who was ordered to perform the work.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred in November 2023. Then, the head of the contractor company overstated the amount of work performed in the estimate documents and received money for fictitious repairs that existed only on paper.

In the acts of performed work, he indicated work that was not actually performed during the road repair. It was these forged acts that became the basis for transferring over UAH 1.8 million in budget funds.

Experts also found that during the laying of the asphalt, the standards of work were violated. This led to the rapid destruction of the asphalt concrete mixture. Shortly after the repair, the road became covered with cracks.

The contractor is accused of official forgery — Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and misappropriation of budget funds in an especially large amount — Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces imprisonment for seven to twelve years with confiscation of property.

In addition, prosecutors filed a lawsuit with the court to recover damages caused to the territorial community.
