The State Bureau of Investigation has handed over a suspicion to an official of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He is suspected of complicity in a scheme to extort money from soldiers who evaded service. The suspicion was received by the commander of the material support group of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

According to the investigation, since January 2024, he, a military man, in collusion with his superior (deputy brigade commander), organized a mechanism for receiving money from servicemen who did not want to serve.

The soldiers did not show up for duty for half their salary. Some of them were even issued combat payments from time to time. The actions of the AFU officials caused losses to the state of over 3 million hryvnias.

The State Bureau of Investigation notes that the number of servicemen who evaded duty in this way reaches more than 50 people.

The group commander was charged with abuse of authority committed during martial law (Part 5, Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 12 years in prison.

It is worth adding that on December 27, 2024, SBI employees reported suspicion to the deputy brigade commander, who participated in the above-mentioned scheme.
