Official suspected of illegal registration of defense land
An official of the Monastyryska City Council, who is a state registrar, illegally registered 1.4 hectares of land in Ternopil for two private enterprises. These plots of land were used by the state enterprise of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine before the illegal registration. The land is located near the Podolyany shopping mall on Lesya Kurbasa and Tekstilna streets.
According to the SBU of Ternopil region, in February 2022, an official of the Monastyryska City Council carried out illegal registration actions. He indicated that non-existent unfinished construction sites were located on the plots in Ternopil, although he should have checked whether this was true. In particular, he should have demanded construction permits and land title documents from representatives of private structures. However, the registrar did not do this, but registered the ownership of these buildings with private structures.
The Ternopil region prosecutor's office reported that the buildings were registered on land plots that were at that time in the use of the state enterprise of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers, during inspections of the plots, established that there were no construction objects on the indicated land plots. The total cost of the land is almost 16 million UAH.
The head of the registration department of the Monastyryska City Council was informed of suspicion under Part 1, Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (committing unauthorized actions with information in automated systems). The sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years of imprisonment. The prosecutor's office noted that other people who could have been involved in the forgery of documents for the illegal registration of land for the defense industry are currently being identified.
