He will stand trial for supplying poor-quality clothing for the Armed Forces
The State Bureau of Investigation completed the investigation and referred to the court the case concerning the supply of low-quality clothing for the Armed Forces in the amount of more than 1 billion hryvnias. Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich appears in the case.
As reported by the press service of the SBI, Hrynkevich together with his son Roman and three other accomplices organized a criminal group. They registered a number of companies, which in 2023 concluded contracts with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of military clothing for a total amount of more than 1.8 billion hryvnias.
During the validity of the contracts, the Ministry of Defense received clothing worth almost 1.2 billion hryvnias. However, according to experts' conclusions, the property did not meet the technical requirements of the agreements due to its low quality, which caused the state losses in the amount of 167 million hryvnias. Now this case will be considered by the court, and the guilty face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
We will remind that Ihor and Roman Hrynkevich, together with three accomplices, are involved in the investigation into abuses in the procurement of the Ministry of Defense. The companies controlled by him were among the largest suppliers of the department. Ihor Hrynkevich is also suspected of attempting to bribe an employee of the State Security Bureau, and this case has also been brought to court. He and his son are currently in custody, and one of the accomplices is wanted internationally.
