Odesa Regional Council head and MP wife sent to trial
NABU and SAPO have referred to court the case of the Head of the Odessa Regional Council, Hryhoriy Didenko, and his wife, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, Yulia Didenko, which concerns false declaration of property worth over 8 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The fact that this is the Didenko couple was confirmed to the Public by sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to the investigation, the couple did not reflect property worth more than 8 million hryvnias in their annual tax declarations for 2021–2023. These are assets that, according to the investigation, they were required to declare.
In addition, based on NABU materials, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed a civil lawsuit to confiscate assets worth almost 5 million hryvnias to the state revenue. The SAPO noted that the couple could not confirm the legality of the origin of these funds.
Investigators established that during 2021–2024, the defendants used this amount to make payments for apartments and purchase two Audi SQ8 cars, 2021 and 2024 models.
In October 2025, the head of the regional council and the people's deputy were informed of the suspicion. Their actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional submission of false information to the declaration. The sanction of the article provides for a fine, community service, or restriction/deprivation of liberty for up to two years, with possible deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Hryhoriy Didenko and Yulia Didenko are suspects in the EBK base.
