Court Orders Forced Appearance of Ex-Lviv Council Head

The Galytskyi District Court of Lviv has adopted a resolution on the compulsory appearance in court of the former chairman of the Lviv Regional Council, current deputy from the "European Solidarity" faction Oleksandr Ganushchyn, who is ignoring court hearings in a case of administrative corruption offense.
As noted in the court's ruling of October 23, the court is considering a case of administrative corruption offense against Oleksandr Ganushchyn under Part 1 of Article 172-6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. This is about untimely submission of a declaration without good reasons. Such a violation is subject to a fine of UAH 850 to UAH 1,700.
However, Oleksandr Ganushchyn did not appear at the court hearings scheduled for October 6, 14, and 23, although he was duly notified of the time and place of the hearing. He did not provide any reasons for his absence.
The prosecutor requested that the pretext be applied to Oleksandr Ganushchyn again. Judge Oleg Yurkiv granted the prosecutor's request, since, in the court's opinion, Oleksandr Hanushyn's participation is mandatory in the consideration of the case. The execution of the pretext resolution was entrusted to the Strategic Investigations Department of the police.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 6.
The media tried to clarify with Oleksandr Ganushchyn the reasons for ignoring court hearings, but his phone was turned off, and he replied to a WhatsApp message that he would officially comment later.
Oleksandr Ganushchyn is a suspect in the EBK database.
We also reported that the appeal left the developer Kopystyra in custody.
