In Bukovyna, a policeman was exposed for helping evaders
Bukovyna operatives exposed a law enforcement officer who organized a scheme for illegal border crossing with Romania for men of military age. The cost of such services reached 4.6 thousand dollars.
According to the investigation, a law enforcement officer from the city of Herts, in Chernivtsi region, involved familiar local residents in the case, who helped transport the men to border points on the Prut River. Dodgers had to cross the border across the river on an inflatable boat. The accomplices and their cars were known to the local law enforcement officers, so this did not arouse suspicion.
During one of the crossings, two men - from Kyiv region and Bukovyna - were detained by border guards, after which they managed to expose the organizer as well. Subsequently, he was dismissed from his position and declared a suspect under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the organization of illegal transportation of persons based on a prior conspiracy for selfish motives, which provides up to 9 years of imprisonment. An investigation is underway to identify others involved in the scheme.
