Kharkiv builder suspected of embezzling UAH 300K
The director of a limited liability company was suspected of embezzling budget funds allocated for the repair of playgrounds and a football field. According to the investigation, the losses exceeded 300 thousand hryvnias.
This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office on April 24. The investigation established that in November 2021, the head of the company concluded an agreement with the city department of housing and communal services. The work was to be carried out on Sharykova Street in the Industrial District of the city.
According to prosecutors, after the renovation was completed, the director entered false information into the documents, significantly overstating: the amount of building materials used; the amount of surface treatment for playgrounds and a football field; and the amount of paving for sidewalks.
The results of the examination confirmed that the Kharkiv community suffered losses in the amount of more than 300 thousand hryvnias. This is the cost of the works that existed only "on paper". The director of the enterprise was informed of suspicion under two articles: large-scale misappropriation of property through abuse of official position and official forgery.
The entrepreneur could face up to eight years in prison.
