The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported on the court's decision regarding the confiscation of a Range Rover car from the mother of a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, who was found guilty of a corruption offense. We are talking about Igor Opadchy, a member of the Kyiv City Council from the "Udar" party, as he reported on social networks.

He informed the ZMV of his intention to appeal this decision to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

According to the prosecutor's office, in 2022, the deputy's mother purchased a 2020 Range Rover Sport for 65,000 hryvnias with the help of the deputy's assistant consultant. In the declaration for 2023, the deputy noted the use of this car, stating its value at over 2.3 million hryvnias. The court recognized that the car was purchased at an undervalued price, which is a violation of the law "On Prevention of Corruption".

The Shevchenkiv District Court found the deputy guilty under Part 1 of Art. 172-5 of the Criminal Procedure Code, imposed a fine of 2,550 hryvnias and confiscated the car as a gift to a loved one. The Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the court of first instance.

Earlier, we wrote that the NAZK did not find discrepancies between the declared income and the real standard of living of the former head of the Cyber Security Department of the SBU, Ilya Vityuk. The inspection was started after the Slidstvo.Info investigation, which reported on the elite real estate of the Vityuk family worth at least 25.5 million hryvnias.

"EBK" also reported that the family of People's Deputy Roman Ivanisov, who is a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-corruption Policy, purchased several expensive cars and real estate during his term as a deputy .
