HACC Seizes Audi Q7 Used by Sambir Mayor
The High Anti-Corruption Court has seized a 2023 Audi Q7 crossover used by Sambora Mayor Yuriy Gamar. In addition, the court has banned the crossover from traveling abroad.
A car worth UAH 4.2 million is the subject of a case of illicit enrichment, so SAPO prosecutor Ihor Garvanko applied to the court with a request to secure the claim.
According to the case materials, the daughter of the mayor of Sambir purchased a 2023 Audi Q7 crossover on February 20 last year for UAH 4.2 million. On the same day, she issued a power of attorney for her father, Yuriy Gamar.
The mayor has repeatedly traveled abroad in a new Audi Q7. In addition, surveillance cameras have recorded him driving a crossover in Lviv, the region, and Transcarpathia. However, the mayor's daughter, according to law enforcement, did not use the car.
At the same time, the cost of the car significantly exceeded the combined income of the family of the mayor of Sambir and his daughter. The prosecutor added that on February 13 of this year, a NABU detective spoke with Yuriy Gamar by phone and asked him to come and explain the circumstances of the purchase of the Audi Q7 and the mayor's systematic crossing of the Ukrainian border in the aforementioned car. However, an hour after the conversation, the ownership of the crossover was transferred to a former employee of the Sambir LKP "Obyednano". Formally, the car was sold to him for 3.7 million UAH.
Such urgent measures to sell the specified car to PERSON_4 may indicate that such actions are aimed at avoiding the possible collection of this asset to the state's revenue.
