HACC Extends Nightly Arrest for Ex-Director of PoltavaFuel Company
The higher anti-corruption court extended until December 24 the term of detention under night house arrest of the former acting director of the Poltava Regional Communal Production and Commercial Enterprise "Poltavapalyvo" Mykola Horyaschenko. NABU and SAP suspect him of embezzling UAH 13 million.
Such a decision was made by HACC. As you know, earlier the anti-corruption court sent Horyashchenko under house arrest. He was also assigned the following duties: to arrive at every request; not to leave the Poltava region without permission; to report a change of residence; refrain from communicating with witnesses; deposit foreign passports and wear an electronic bracelet.
The SAP prosecutor asked to extend the preventive measure for another two months. The court partially satisfied him by removing the electronic bracelet from Horyaschenko. Also, the judge changed the obligation not to leave the Poltava region without permission to the obligation to report on each departure from the Poltava region.
Partially grant the request. To extend for two months, i.e. until December 24, 2024 inclusive, but within the period of the pre-trial investigation, the period of validity of the preventive measure against the suspect (Horyashchenko - ed.) in the form of house arrest with a ban on the period from 22:00 to 06:00 leave the house without permission
Mykola Horyashchenko is a member of the EBK database.
It will be recalled that NABU and SAP informed the ex-director of Poltavapalyvo about the suspicion. According to the investigation, Acting the director of CE "Poltavapalyvo", acting without the permission of the Poltava Regional Council and in violation of the company's charter, in June 2020 concluded an agreement with a private company on the provision of repayable financial assistance in the amount of UAH 1.89 million for a period of one month.
The payment of the debt was supposed to take place within a month, but the parties reached an agreement on its repayment by alienating the company's facilities and buildings, allegedly worth UAH 1.8 million, in favor of the company. However, according to the examination, the real price of the transferred property was 14.5 million hryvnias, and the alienation took place in violation of the law and without the consent of the owner - the territorial community. Thus, the territorial community suffered losses in the amount of UAH 12.7 million.
