HACC Extends Obligations for Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Deputy
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court extended the term of office of Zaporizhzhia Regional Council deputy Vyacheslav Kolesnikov until January 29, 2025. NABU and SAPO suspect him of providing over UAH 650,000 in illegal benefits to the director of the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.
As is known, the court arrested Kolesnikov with the alternative of 1 million UAH bail. These funds were paid for him and he was released from the pre-trial detention center under the following obligations: to appear upon first demand; to report a change in his place of residence and/or place of work; to refrain from communicating with other suspects in these criminal proceedings and witnesses, and to hand over his foreign passports. The SAPO prosecutor again requested to extend the procedural obligations for another two months.
The motion of the SAPO prosecutor to extend the term of the duties imposed on the suspect (Kolesnikov – ed.) in criminal proceedings is granted. The suspect's term of duties stipulated in Part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code is extended until January 29, 2025 inclusive.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO exposed Deputy Chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Vladyslav Kutsenko and two other individuals in an attempt to bribe the director of a healthcare facility.
Vyacheslav Kolesnikov and Vladislav Kutsenko are suspects in the EBK base.
