The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a decree that puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated October 22 "On combating corruption offenses." The decision provides for the liquidation of all medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) and the prosecution of officials suspected of corruption schemes. The liquidation of MSEK will begin on December 31, 2024 after the adoption of the relevant draft law. The decision is published on the website of the Office of the President.

After the meeting of the NSDC, which took place on October 22 against the background of large-scale corruption scandals in the MSEK and regional prosecutor's offices, Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced a series of measures to "restore justice." Among the main points of the NSDC decision:

  • digitization of the disability establishment process;
  • verification of declarations of MSEC members;
  • checking and revising unjustified decisions on the disability of officials;
  • audit of pension payments to officials with fictitious disabilities;
  • legislative changes for the urgent reform of the system of medical and social expertise in Ukraine;
  • revision of the mechanisms for accrual of pension payments to officials of state bodies.

The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Ministry of Health, has been instructed to prepare within a month a draft law on changes to the laws of Ukraine to ensure the reform of the system of medical and social expertise.

We will remind, it all started with a corruption scandal involving the head of Khmelnytskyi MSEC Tetyana Krupa. She was exposed in a corruption scheme , helping 50 prosecutors and their relatives to register their disability. 6 million dollars in cash were found in her apartment.

Tatyana Krupa is a figurehead of the EBK base.

We also wrote earlier that the head of the MSEC in Kyiv region was informed of the suspicion of receiving a $10,000 bribe .
