Case story: On September 16, 2025, it became known that the former director of the Odessa Lyceum "European" Yulia Barduk, who had fled abroad, was taken into custody in absentia.
She is suspected of fictitiously employing her mother at a lyceum and embezzling almost 390,000 hryvnias of budget funds, according to the ruling of the Kyiv District Court of Odessa.
According to the case materials, the scheme looked like this: Yulia Barduk registered a relative for the position of a cleaner, although the latter was not actually performing her duties. At the same time, false information about the hours worked was entered into the time sheet.
As a result, according to law enforcement officers, for the period from January 2020 to November 2023, 389.8 thousand UAH from the budget were unreasonably transferred to Barduk's mother's account.
The former director was reported on suspicion of misappropriation of property through abuse of office (under Part 4 of Article 191 and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The maximum penalty for these crimes is eight years in prison.
It was established that in September 2024, Barduk left Ukraine in a Nissan car through the Orlivka checkpoint towards Romania and has been hiding abroad since then. On June 26, 2025, she was put on the international wanted list.
The investigation believes that she may currently be in the Russian Federation in order to evade criminal responsibility. Despite this, Judge Dmitry Tishko chose a preventive measure for Yulia Barduk - detention.

Wealth: There are no declarations of Barduk's income in open sources.
