The plot of the case: according to the investigation, Dergunov, as a senior prosecutor of a group of prosecutors in one of the criminal proceedings, demanded $20,000 for concluding a plea agreement with two persons suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, on the condition of imposing a sentence and being released from serving it on probation. In case of refusal of the “offer”, the senior prosecutor of the group threatened the suspects with a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 11-12 years.
Under the terms of the "deal", $20,000 was to be paid to the senior group of prosecutors in two installments. The first – $15,000 – as a deposit, the rest – before the plea agreements concluded between him as a prosecutor in criminal proceedings and the suspects were sent to court.
Later, the court sent him under house arrest and also removed him from office. In November 2025, the HIgh Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement concluded with the former prosecutor of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, Volodymyr Dergunov. He was sentenced to one year in prison. As indicated, Dergunov fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented. In addition, he became the applicant in one of the cases against tax officials, whose actions led to the non-receipt of about UAH 107 million to the budget. The accused has also suffered from diabetes for over 15 years and in connection with this has a second group of disability for life. In addition, Dergunov undertook to transfer UAH 500,000 to the account of the charitable foundation "Code of Nation 47".

Assets: in the 2018 declaration, Dergunov indicated an apartment with an area of 80.3 m² in Kyiv, his wife Tetyana Dergunova owns a residential building with an area of 182.5 m² in Tadiivka, a land plot with an area of 3,142 m² in Tadiivka, and another land plot with an area of 2,500 m² in Tadiivka. Dergunov Volodymyr also owns a 2011 Kia Sportage passenger car, the right was acquired on 12/26/2018, the cost on the date of acquisition is UAH 305,000, his wife Tetyana Dergunova uses a 2014 Hyundai i40 car by power of attorney, the owner of which is Nataliya Zelenko.
Dergunov received a salary at his main place of work in the amount of UAH 418,534, he also received a pension in the amount of UAH 36,415, his wife Tetyana Dergunova received a pension in the amount of UAH 60,759. In addition, Volodymyr Dergunov indicated that he has UAH 430,000 in cash.
