The plot of the case: on October 5, 2023, in Dnipro, the SBU and the SBU detained a prosecutor who demanded a bribe in order to "smear" the suspect out of prison. He turned out to be Ostap Fedyk, the prosecutor of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Dnipro.
Ostap Fedyk demanded 10,000 dollars from a local resident, whose son is a suspect in the case of fraud and forgery of documents, seals and stamps. For this amount, prosecutor Fedyk "guaranteed" to change the qualification of the crime to a less serious one, and in the future to "close" the criminal proceedings in which he was the procedural manager.
Fedyk was arrested red-handed while handing him the entire sum of the bribe.
The prosecutor's actions are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official"; the sanction provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
Later, the court removed him from the position of prosecutor of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of Dnipro until January 5, 2024 and left him under night house arrest.
After some time, the journalists found out that Ostap Fedyk, the prosecutor of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of Dnipro, returned to work.
In February 2024, the court sided with prosecutor Fedyk and imposed a preventive measure on the suspect in the form of a personal commitment.

Wealth: in the declaration for 2022, Fedyk listed several real estate objects at once - but the most interesting thing is that they all belong to his mother. In particular, this is a residential building, an apartment and two plots of land.
In addition, three passenger cars are indicated in the prosecutor's declaration. One of them (SKODA KAROQ worth UAH 739,500) belongs to Ostap Fedyk.
In 2023, Fedyk earned 714,990 UAH, and his wife Oleksandra - 99,020 UAH. The prosecutor declared UAH 600,000 in cash.
During the first year of the full-scale war, Fedyk received UAH 752,042 in salary. He also declared UAH 240,000 in cash.
Persons who should have responded to corruption schemes: law enforcement officers responded in time to Ostap Fedyk's criminal activities. However, to date, he is still on parole.
