Officially, the department does not report the name of the official, however, according to a UP source in law enforcement agencies, it is about Vitaliy Gersak, the former head of the SSU department in the Mykolaiv region.
In particular, the NACP monitored the lifestyle of the former official and the inspection confirmed signs of illicit enrichment. Thus, in July 2021, the official's wife's mother, not having sufficient official income, purchased in an elite residential complex in the capital: 3 parking spaces for almost 1.9 million hryvnias, a non-residential premises for over 8.4 million hryvnias, two apartments in an elite area of Kyiv with a total value of over 12 million hryvnias.
Later, she gave this property to her daughter, who later granted her husband the right to dispose of it. The investigation established that the combined income of the official, his wife, and mother-in-law did not allow for such purchases. The UCP reported that he was charged with a criminal offense under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Prior to that, the NACP sent a conclusion to the NABU regarding Gersak, who has expensive real estate, land, and an elite car fleet that are disproportionate to the family's official income. The NACP found that Gersak had inaccurate information worth UAH 800,000.
In February, "Our Money with Denis Bigus" reported that the family of the head of the SSU of the Mykolaiv region, Vitaliy Gersak, has expensive real estate, a lot of land, and an elite car fleet, disproportionate to the family's official income. On November 18, 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Vitaliy Gersak from the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine department in the Mykolaiv region. The Mykolaiv court did not find the former head of the SSU of the Mykolaiv region, Vitaliy Gersak, to have any intention to enter false information into the declaration and closed the relevant administrative proceedings.
An investigation by Bihus.Info showed that the family of the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine for the Mykolaiv region, Vitaliy Gersak, purchased real estate worth approximately one and a half million dollars after his dismissal.
In May 2026, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 10 million hryvnias for the former head of one of the law enforcement agencies in the Mykolaiv region, suspected of illegal enrichment of over 22 million.
