The plot of the case: in January 2023, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an official of the Bureau of Economic Security and a local deputy in Transcarpathia, who were "crushing" the illegal sale of excise goods. This was reported in the press service of the SBU.
Ivan Mironovych Grubinka, a senior detective of the Territorial Department of the BEB in Zakarpattia Oblast, is involved in the corruption scheme. He and an accomplice were detained after receiving a bribe of six thousand dollars.
The official established a mechanism for illegally receiving money from local entrepreneurs. For regular "contributions", he promised them not to react to the facts of underground sales of excise goods, in particular electronic cigarettes.
"For the "crushing" of illegal business, the official demanded from merchants to pay him $2 for each electronic cigarette sold. At the same time, the official tried to spread his influence in the region as much as possible and attract as many sellers as possible to the scheme. The senior detective involved a deputy of the village council in the Uzhgorod district in the criminal activity," says the investigation materials.

Assets: in the declaration upon dismissal from 01.01.2023 - 01.25.2023, Hrubinka indicated a residential building, home ownership, a plot of land, and he also declared two passenger cars. He also indicated that he has UAH 750,000 in cash, and his wife also has UAH 750,000 in cash.
