Case story: on Monday, April 6, 2026, SSU officers detained Myroslav Khrushch, the chief state inspector of the “Krakovets” customs post of the Lviv Customs, for taking a bribe. According to ZAXID.NET from sources in law enforcement agencies, Myroslav Khrushch demanded a bribe for passing undeclared cash across the border. It is previously known that the size of the bribe varied depending on the amount of currency being exported.
As reported on April 8 by the prosecutor's office and the SBU of Lviv region, the 52-year-old customs officer took kickbacks for the export of cash, depending on the amount: for the export of up to $50,000, the reward was $500, for more than $50,000 - $1,000, respectively.
It is documented that in February - early April of this year, the customs officer passed through 180,000 USD in three parts without declaring it, receiving a total of 2,500 USD in illegal profit. While receiving payment of 1,000 USD for the last border crossing with undeclared currency, the inspector was detained by law enforcement officers under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The customs inspector was repeatedly reported on suspicion of receiving illegal benefits (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail, and he was also suspended from his position. Assets: according to the NACP website, Myroslav Khrushch has been working at customs for over 10 years. For 2025, he declared over UAH 670,000 in salary at Lviv Customs and over UAH 60,000 in pension. His wife received another UAH 39,000 in pension. The customs officer's son Ivan is also a pensioner - he received over UAH 242,000 in pension and UAH 3,000 in social payments, as well as over UAH 10,000 in salary (cash benefits) from the KP LOR "Lviv Regional Center for Training the Population for National Resistance "Defense of Lviv Region". The son also keeps $ 20,000 in cash.
The customs officer's family owns two apartments in Lviv (111 m2 and 52 m2), as well as non-residential premises, which are registered to his wife. The customs officer drives a 2020 Škoda Octavia.
Persons who should have reacted: in the case of Khrushchev, law enforcement officers reacted in a timely manner.
