Case story: On June 2, 2026, the Koretsky District Court found Valeriy Kondratyuk, a deputy of the 8th convocation of the Koretsky City Council, guilty of abuse of influence. The official promised an entrepreneur $5,000 to help him obtain a permit to install a temporary structure. For this, the court fined him UAH 207,000.
According to the verdict, in February 2025, the accused offered the businessman help with obtaining permits to establish a SAF in Korca. He asked for a $5,000 reward for his influence on city council officials. At that time, the businessman was already cooperating with law enforcement.
According to the investigation, in March, Valeriy Kondratyuk organized a meeting between the applicant and representatives of local authorities, during which they discussed the possibility of obtaining the necessary permits. A month later, the executive committee of the Korets city council made a positive decision in the case.
After that, the deputy handed the entrepreneur a copy of the document, and on May 8, 2025, he received the agreed amount from him.
In court, the deputy fully admitted his guilt, repented, and asked not to impose a severe punishment, but to limit himself to a fine.
Judge Nataliya Zagorodko found Valeriy Kondratyuk guilty under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence) and imposed a fine of UAH 207.2 thousand. He must also reimburse the state for almost UAH 10.7 thousand in costs for conducting examinations. The verdict can still be appealed in the court of appeal.
