Case story: At the end of September 2025, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported the suspicion of Lyudmila Kropivna, a judge of the Northern Appeals Economic Court, in illegal enrichment and false declarations.
This is reported by the press services of the authorities, but they do not indicate the name of the judge and the name of the court. According to the media from their own sources, this is Kropivna, an investigation into whom was launched based on a report by the Security Service of Ukraine. She owns a house in Kozyn, Obukhiv district, Kyiv region, and two land plots.
On September 22, 2025, on the instructions of the head of the SAPO, the prosecutor reported suspicion of illegal enrichment and declaration of false information by a judge of one of the courts of Kyiv. The judge's actions were qualified under Art. 368-5 and Part 2 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine
According to the investigation, at the end of 2021, the judge acquired two land plots and a residential building in the Kyiv region, the value of which exceeds her legal income by more than UAH 16 million. On real estate websites, these objects were sold for almost $ 1 million, and the final cost was about $ 900 thousand (approximately UAH 24 million at the date of purchase).
Also, as the authorities note, the judge in her declarations for 2021-2024 indicated inaccurate information about this property, namely its value.
Subsequently, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 5 million on a judge of one of the courts in Kyiv, who is suspected of illegal enrichment and declaring false information. According to media reports, this was Lyudmila Kropivna, a judge of the Northern Appeal Economic Court.
On September 25, 2025, the HACC partially satisfied the request of NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, and applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 5 million to a judge of one of the courts in Kyiv, who is suspected of illegal enrichment and declaring false information. The court also imposed relevant procedural obligations on the suspect, including to appear before the investigator, prosecutor and court upon the first summons; not to leave Kyiv and Kyiv region without permission and to report any change of place of residence and work
At the end of November 2025, the High Council of Justice extended until January 18, 2026 the temporary suspension of the judge of the Northern Economic Court of Appeal, Lyudmila Kropivna, from administering justice.
The High Council of Justice decided: to grant the petition of the Deputy Prosecutor General - Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Oleksandr Vasyliovych Klymenko. To extend until January 18, 2026 the term of temporary suspension of the judge of the Northern Appeal Economic Court, Kropivna Lyudmila Volodymyrivna, from administering justice in connection with criminal prosecution
Persons potentially involved in corruption schemes: open sources do not provide information about Kropyvna's possible accomplices.
Assets: in the declaration for 2024, Kropivna indicated that she owns two apartments in Ternopil, one apartment in Kyiv, a parking space, as well as a residential building and two land plots in Kozyn (the value of the house indicated in the declaration is 5,328,215 hryvnias).




In addition, Kropivna owns a Volkswagen Tiguan worth 986,406 hryvnia.

Kropyvna's income for this year was UAH 2,724,559. She declared UAH 100,000 in cash, and UAH 55,464 in her bank account.

Persons who should have reacted: law enforcement agencies responded to Kropyvna's criminal activities in a timely manner, presenting her with a suspicion.
Scandals: Before the corruption scheme, she was not seen as a figure in other scandals.
