Case story: On January 15, 2026, law enforcement officers exposed the head of the military medical commission in the Dnipropetrovsk region in a mass sale of "unfitness" for service.
Suspicion has been declared against the head of the military medical commission at the district territorial center for recruitment and social support, as well as her intermediary. According to a media source, this is the head of the MMC, Valentyna Kurysh.
She is charged with committing criminal offenses under Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 1, 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the intermediary is charged with Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 1, 2 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the official, using her official position, acted in collusion with a civilian intermediary and systematically received bribes for making decisions on the unfitness or limited fitness of conscripted citizens to perform military service.
Such "medical reports" provided an opportunity to evade the fulfillment of a constitutional obligation under martial law.
The SSU says that a TCP employee was involved in searching for clients and updating their military registration documents, acting together with a 58-year-old resident of the region.
Law enforcement officers documented more than 20 episodes of receiving illegal benefits, the prosecutor's office notes.
During the authorized searches, over $307,000 in cash was discovered and seized from the head of the MMC. Over $90,000 was also seized from the intermediary.
Persons potentially involved in corruption schemes: an intermediary is also involved in the scheme, but his name is not mentioned in open sources.
Assets: in her 2024 declaration, Kurysh indicated that she owns an apartment in Kyiv (purchased on the eve of the full-scale war), but indicated as her actual place of residence a residential building and a land plot located in the city of Kamianske and belonging to her husband.
Kurysh does not have her own transport, but her husband declared a power of attorney for a Chevrolet Lacetti Nf35 car, and also indicated that he owns a trailer.
Valentina Kurysh's income for the same year was UAH 646,385.
She declared 150,000 UAH in cash, 4,000 USD, 3,000 EUR, and 74,350 UAH in her bank accounts. At the same time, her husband declared 93,000 UAH in cash, and 62,830 UAH in his bank accounts.
Persons who should have reacted: law enforcement officers responded in a timely manner to the criminal activities of Kurysh and the intermediary, handing both suspects over.
Scandals: Before the scheme, Valentyna Kurysh was not seen as a figure in other scandals.
