Qualification: Mykhailo Labyk's actions were qualified under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The plot of the case: in May 2021, investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) detained an employee of the State Tax Service (SST) of Transcarpathia and his assistant in Uzhhorod for a bribe of 180,000 hryvnias. Mykhailo Labyk and his assistant were arrested.
The head of the department and the chief state auditor-inspector of the Main Department of the DPS of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region demanded 250,000 hryvnias from the subject of economic activity for exemption from paying 980,000 hryvnias in tax, as well as related fines.
The issue of notifying the detainees of suspicion of extorting and obtaining an illegal benefit committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was resolved, as well as the selection of preventive measures against them.
However, at the moment, it is not known how this case ended. To date, Mykhailo Labyk is still in his position.
Persons potentially involved in the corruption scheme: in addition to Mykhailo Labyk, his assistant is also involved in the corruption scheme.
Assets: in the declaration for 2021, Labyk indicated that he owns 3 plots of land, a basement and a residential building in Transcarpathia. His wife Yevgenia owns an apartment and land plots.
Labyk also stated that he owns VAZ and SKODA SUPERB cars (the value of the latter is UAH 670,000), instead, his wife declared a PEUGEOT 107 worth UAH 109,125.
The official's income for 2021 was UAH 328,332, and his wife Yevgenia's - UAH 325,774.
Mykhailo Labyk and his wife declared 21,000 dollars and 13,000 euros in cash.
During the first year of the full-scale war, Labyk's income was UAH 400,003, while his wife received UAH 310,707 in salary.
Also, the amount of the couple's savings has changed somewhat. In particular, Labyk and his wife declared 21,000 dollars and 14,500 euros.
In 2023, Mykhailo Labyk bought a new VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (worth UAH 651,233).
The official's income for the same year was UAH 430,054, Yevgenia Labyk received UAH 394,375 in salary.
The Labyk couple declared 24,000 dollars and 15,000 euros in cash.
Persons who should have responded to corruption schemes: law enforcement agencies responded in time to Mykhailo Labyk's criminal activity. In particular, his case was handled by the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General's Office.
Scandals: before the emergence of the corruption scheme, Mykhailo Labyk was not noticed as a figure in other scandals.
