Story of the case : According to the investigation, Oleksandr Levkivskyi, while serving as director of the Rzhyshchiv Military Forest Farm, demanded a bribe of $100,000 for the allocation of a 74-hectare plot of land for further lease for 49 years.
Later, when entrepreneurs who wanted to rent a plot of land located on the banks of the Dnieper agreed to a bribe, Oleksandr Levkivskyi noted that the first installment should be $10,000.
Oleksandr Levkivskyi was detained together with his accomplice upon receiving the first share in the amount of 10,000 dollars. It was this amount that the investigators recognized as the amount of illegal profit.
The only information available in the open registers is that Oleksandr Levkivskyi did not admit his guilt and stated that this case was a provocation for him to receive a bribe. After the announcement of the verdict, Oleksandr Levkivskyi's lawyers filed a cassation appeal for the annulment of the court's decision, in which they did not mention that their client had received a bribe, they referred to the fact that NABU employees conducted secret investigative actions, namely, the wiretapping of Oleksandr Levkivskyi in violation of the requirements of current legislation.
