The story of the case: Oleksandr Lonchak, the director of the Department of Education and Science of Odesa Oblast, began 2023 by receiving suspicions of corruption.
According to the National Police, the official participated in a criminal scheme to forge documents and waste state funds on the repair of children's institutions.
The journalists found the materials of the case in which the official is suspected of participating in the embezzlement of UAH 400,000 from the regional budget.
It is about the overhaul of the regional lyceum No. 6 and the Baraboy psychoneurological boarding house by an entrepreneur with fictitious documents.
