Plot of the case: May 26, 2020, around 4 p.m. 30 min., being in the square next to the Kyiv local prosecutor's office No. 6 on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, prosecutor Mazuryk allegedly expressed to the deputy chairman of the board of Bank Alliance JSC Pavlo Shcherbany an illegal demand for the transfer of $100,000 for closing the criminal proceedings. Mazuryk also promised to name Shcherbany the customers of this criminal proceeding from among the bank's competitors.
According to the case materials, on June 4, 2020, around 11:45 a.m. prosecutor Mazuryk, while in the premises of Bank Alliance JSC, illegally received 100,000 dollars allegedly for closing the case, as well as the non-registration of other criminal proceedings against this bank by other law enforcement agencies, guaranteeing that no information about the activities of the bank and its board members would be disclosed to the mass media, promising to name the customers of the criminal prosecution.
At the same time, it is known that Mazurik was not authorized to make a decision to close criminal proceedings No. 12020100060001724. After all, in this case, no one was notified of the suspicion and in such cases it is closed by the investigator.
It is believed that Sviatoslav Mazuryk took all actions to bring the crime to an end, but did not implement what he planned for reasons beyond his control, as he was detained by law enforcement officers. His actions are qualified as a completed attempt to take possession of someone else's property by means of deception, in particularly large amounts, according to a prior conspiracy by a group of persons.
Before receiving the package, Mazuryk boasted to the banker that he could solve almost any issue in the Kyiv Court of Appeal. The prosecutor's wife Nataliya Mazurik works as a chief specialist in this court. On the eve of the meeting with the banker, Sviatoslav Mazurik visited the Mercedes-Benz showroom in Kyiv several times. As the representative of the prosecution stated in court, Mazuryk planned to buy a car for a bribe.
Sviatoslav Mazuryk was taken into custody, but he was quickly released after paying bail. At the beginning of 2021, the suspect returned to work and regularly represents the state prosecution in various criminal cases in court.
According to the prosecutor's office, at that moment the deadline for his removal from office by the court had expired. His bail was also reduced from UAH 630,000. up to UAH 227,000. The capital's prosecutor's office reported that two official investigations were conducted in Mazuryk. For one of them, a disciplinary complaint was filed against the prosecutor and sent to the personnel commission. At the same time, based on the results of the second investigation, they decided that Mazuryk, suspected of bribery, did not violate the rules of prosecutorial ethics.
On May 17, 2021, the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case of the indictment of the prosecutor of the Kyiv Local Prosecutor's Office No. 6 Svyatoslav Mazuryk and Andrii Parasochka, the senior operational officer of the KZE Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.
On October 4, 2021, the Shevchenkivskyi Court of Kyiv held the first hearing of the indictment against the ex-prosecutor of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Svyatoslav Mazuryk, and the senior operational officer of the SBU, Andriy Parasochka. At that time, Svyatoslav Mazuryk had already been dismissed from the prosecutor's office.
