Status: Judge Yevheniy Androschuk found the director of Krasylivlis guilty of Part 1 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence) and imposed a fine of UAH 68,000.
The plot of the case: in November 2023, the police opened a criminal case due to the illegal felling of 38 trees in the territory of the Shchyboriv community. During the investigation, it turned out that the director of the Krasylivlis enterprise, Mykhailo Melnychuk, was involved in the crime. Therefore, the official organized a meeting with two SBU officers, to whom he offered a $1,000 reward for influencing the police officer to close the criminal case.
On December 10, 2024, Mykhailo Melnychuk handed over the entire amount to law enforcement officers, after which he was detained. During the trial, the man fully admitted his guilt. Judge Yevheniy Androschuk found the director of Krasylivlis guilty under Part 1 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence) and imposed a fine of UAH 68,000.
In addition, the accused was deprived of the right to hold positions in enterprises, institutions, and organizations of state and municipal ownership that are associated with the presence of organizational, managerial, and administrative and economic functions for a period of three years. The decision can still be appealed in the court of appeal.
