Scandals: On March 26, 2025, the SSU, together with the police, detained Yuriy Prykhodko, the head of the Lviv-Postal customs post, for taking a bribe.
According to law enforcement officials, the head of the customs post, Yuriy Prykhodko, demanded a $23,000 bribe for influencing decisions regarding the unhindered processing of international postal items without paying customs duties.
He was detained while receiving part of a bribe of $20,000. Journalist Taras Seredych was the first to report the detention. This information was also confirmed to journalists by law enforcement agencies.
The detainee is being charged with a crime and is being held in custody. Law enforcement officials promise to provide more details about the case later.
Assets : for 2024, Yuriy Prykhodko declared about UAH 715,000 in salary at the Lviv Customs, another UAH 280,000 was earned by his wife Iryna Prykhodko, who teaches at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv at the Department of International Economic Relations and part-time at the State University of Trade and Economics. Yuriy Prykhodko indicated $11,000 and €2,000 in cash in the declaration, and his wife keeps another UAH 120,000 in cash.
Iryna Prykhodko owns a house with an area of almost 300 m2 and a land plot in Bryukhovychy. Yuriy Prykhodko owns a land plot in Dublyany and uses two residential buildings with an area of 41 and 95 m2 in Rava-Ruska and the village of Richky.
Iryna Prykhodko drives a 2023 Volkswagen ID6 electric crossover with a declared value of over UAH 1.3 million. And Yuriy Prykhodko owns a 2008 Niewiadow trailer.
Related persons: open sources do not reveal any potential accomplices of Prykhodko.
Persons who must respond: law enforcement agencies responded to Prykhodko's criminal activities in a timely manner, but the official has yet to receive suspicion.
